Family Nurse Practitioner

Zoila Castro, Nurse Practitioner; is a dedicated healthcare professional who joined the Sacoto Pediatrics team  in August 2023, with a rich background in nursing and a passion for women's and pediatric health. Her journey in the field of healthcare began in 2008 when she earned her Registered Nurse credentials. 


Zoila started her career as a Cardiac Nurse at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, where she honed her skills in providing compassionate and specialized care to patients. In 2011, Zoila embarked on a transformative chapter in her career by joining the Women's Services department. Over the years, she embraced various roles within the department, including Staff Nurse, Clinical Nurse Supervisor, and Clinical Nurse Educator. Her commitment to excellence, leadership, and education made a lasting impact on the Women's Services team and the quality of care delivered to patients. Driven by a desire to expand her scope of practice and provide holistic care to families, Zoila pursued and completed her education as a Family Nurse Practitioner with a focus on pediatrics. This achievement reflects her dedication to staying at the forefront of healthcare advancements and her commitment to serving diverse patient populations. 


 Zoila is also an alumna of George Washington University (GWU), where she further enriched her knowledge and skills. Her affiliation with GWU underscores her commitment to academic excellence and continuous learning. 


 As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Zoila Castro is poised to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of her patients, particularly in the realm of pediatric care. Her professional journey, coupled with her narrative, serves as an inspiration to others and exemplifies the diversity and resilience within the healthcare community and we know that she will be a great addition to the Sacoto Pediatrics family. 



Zoila's journey is marked not only by her professional achievements but also by her significant personal milestones. As the first in her family to graduate from a university and a first-generation immigrant from Peru, Zoila is a trailblazer who exemplifies the power of education and perseverance. She is a proud mother of two wonderful kids, she balances the demands of a successful career with the joys of motherhood.
